Gosford Council: CLIMATE CHANGE MITIGATION STRATEGY

At the  meeting of Gosford Council at the 7th of August 2012 the new ‘Climate Change Mitigation Strategy’ will be submitted to council by the directorate of City Services & Water and Sewer. http://www.gosford.nsw.gov.au/council/council_meetings/agenda_reports/2012/08/07/City%20Services.pdf (see pages 196 to 207)

Opportunity O-22a (page 207) is exactly the kind of project where our community group ‘Central Coast Mitigation Strategy’ would like to be engaged in. It states:

Rooftop solar photovoltaic power generation

Install solar photovoltaic systems at 13 different sites including:
i) Blue Tongue stadium
ii) Admin building
iii) Baker Street Car park
Electricity generated to be used for on-site purposes.

Once we are incorporated as an association (in about 4 weeks) we will get in touch with Gosford council and discuss possible co-operation on renewable energy projects.

There is also a new opportunity: Gosford Council has pledged $1.75 million for the new grandstand at Woy Woy Oval.

There should be the possibility to integrate a solar roof from the beginning!
