Community solar targeted by ACT’s latest PV incentive

Canberra residents will be given a new opportunity to invest in solar power on a community levels with the introduction of a special community feed-in tariff (FiT), the latest in a raft of solar growth incentives introduced by the ACT government. The new solar FiT would be up to 20 cents per kilowatt hour for 20 years, slightly higher than the price achieved by successful proponents in the government’s successful large-scale Solar Auction in 2012-13.

Simon Corbell, the Australian Capital Territory’s environment minister said that “This rate will help community groups develop innovative community outcomes.”
